Fasten off just means to cut the yarn and tie off leaving about a two inch tail.  Then, weave in the ends the same way you would finish any crochet project.

This is how the sandal should look after round 5.
After cutting the yarn and tying a small knot.

Round 6 says to join with a single crochet tot he 8th st to the left of joining.  I personally just joined the yarn using a slip stitch and then chained 1 and continued with the instructions as written.
Joining yarn at the 8th stitch to the left of joining

Rnd 6) Join with a sc in the 8th [8th,8th,9th] st to the left of joining. Sc in the next 1 [2,3,3] st, 2 sc in the ch space, (sc dec over the next 2 sts, 2 sc in the next ch space) 4 times, sc in the next 2 [3,4,4] sts, loosely ch 14 [16,18,18] and sl st to the 1st sc to join. Ch 1. (18,20,22,22 sc, 14,16,18,18 chs)

This is how the sandal should look after you complete round 6.

Rnd 7) Sc in the1st 2 [3,4,4] sts, dc dec 7 times, sc in the next 2 [3,4,4]sts, in one loop only sc in each ch around. Join with sl st to 1st sc. Ch 1. (25,29,33,33 sts)
Rnd 8) Sc in 1 [2,1,1] st, sc dec 2 [2,3,3] times, sc in the next st, sc dec 2 [2,3,3] times, sc in the next 1 [2,1,1 st, loosly sl st in the next 14 [16,18,18] sts,. Join with a sl st to the 1st sc. Fasten off! (7,9,9,9sc, 14,16,18,18 slst)
Thicker sole recommended for bigger sizes!
For thicker sole repeat rnds 1-3 and holding this piece against bottom of shoe, matching up stitches, slip st through both loops of this piece and leftover loops around bottom of shoe.
Weave in ends and sew on buttons as shown in pictures.
Enjoy!

  1. Hi Judy,I will look at the pattern and try to take some pics and post them. Unfortunately, I can't take any video because I have Windows Vista on my laptop and my camcorder isn't compatible with Vista.

  2. Hello Megan,Both of these items are just too cute. I have been crocheting for years, my grandmother taughte me and it has been a passion of mine for a long time. The crocs are just wonderful. Thanks for sharing.Lisa Wright

  3. Hey there!! I'm wondering how I could edit this pattern to bring it up a size to the 3-6 months? I have a little cousin who's growing just so fast! And everything we've gotten for the sweetie is little blue bears, and this would be perfect to add to the collection! Thanks!Jess
